Whatever He pleases
“I know the greatness of the Lord— that our Lord is greater than any other god. The Lord does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.” Psalm 135:5-7
The days grow warmer as summer approaches. The field and surrounding woods which were almost colorless a few weeks ago, except for varying hues of gray and brown, have given way to the multi-colors of late spring. Accompanying the season of transition are both gentle rains and sometimes fierce storms with flashes of lightning and rumbling thunder.
Though I pray for the benefits of the rainstorms without destruction or harm to people, I most always welcome the storms. I often enjoy going outside as the winds increase causing the oaks to sway and their branches to bend as they yield to the wind. All that occurs, God created and set into motion. There is confidence in the heart of a Believer when reminded of the Lord’s greatness, knowing God will do whatever he pleases. There exists nothing to prevent his will and desires from manifesting.
Assurance is given us in verse three of this Psalm declaring, “…the Lord is good.” Whatever he does pleases him and will always be what is just, what is right, and what is good. Praise the Lord!
I praise your name, O Most High, for you are good, and all that you do is good for the glory of your name and your kingdom. I know, Lord, that you are great and that you are good. I am committed to you and in what is pleasing to you. What unfolds in this day will be guided by your greatness and for your benefit. Amen.
"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."
