How do I open the files in an MP3 Album?
MP3 Albums are combined into a single ZIP file for easy downloading. Once the album ZIP file is downloaded, you will need to unZIP the file. For Mac and Windows (version XP and later), unzipping is built-in. Just double-click on the ZIP file and it will extract the individual MP3 files.
If you are using a version of Windows prior to Windows XP, you will need an unzipping utility. Some of the more popular, FREE, ZIP utilities are ZipReader by PKWare and jZip. PLEASE NOTE: These are recommended based on popularity only. We do not use these programs and do not provide support for them. If you have difficulties with the program, please contact the developer for assistance or a great place to get help is Google.
How long do I have to download the songs I purchased?
Song downloads are available for 14 days from the date of purchase. You will need the Order Code and link to access the song files. If you need to download a song after 14 days you will need to re-purchase it.
I received an order confirmation e-mail but I did not receive an e-mail with my Order Code and a link to login. What should I do?
Forward your order confirmation e-mail to webmaster@craigsmithmusic.co. We can verify your order and make the songs available to you for downloading.
What format and bit rate are the songs available in?
Most newer songs are encoded as MP3 files at 192 kbps. Some older songs may be encoded at 128kbps. MP3 Albums are ZIP files that contain all of the songs files from a specific album.
How large are the song files?
Song files encoded at 192kbps average approximately 1.4 MB per minute. So a 5-minute song would be approximately 7 MB. Song files encoded at 128kbps will be smaller.
Can I transfer these songs to iTunes and my iPod?
Yes. iTunes supports MP3 files and iPods will play MP3 files.
Am I allowed to copy these songs or put them on CD?
Yes, as long as it is for your own use only. Sharing files with others who have not purchased them is not only illegal and unethical, it does harm to the artists who have spent many hours and used their talents to provide this music to you. It also prevents us from donating much needed funds to missions.
